Now that celebrity makeup artist Lauren Andersen has taught us how to contour, it’s time for our next tutorial with the powerhouse artist: bright blue liner! Turquoise eye makeup isn’t for the faint of heart, but thanks to Andersen’s easy how-to, it can be one of the easiest things to pull off.
Tip: If blue’s not your thing, just sub in any bright liner. “Blue looks especially great on people with blue or brown eyes,” Andersen says. “Purple looks great on green eyes and redheads, and teal is just so cool, it will work on anyone.”
Step 1: Apply Your Makeup As Usual
Before you reach for your liner, do your makeup as you normally would for day. We suggest light face makeup, a touch of bronzer, a pinky blush and lip color, a bone-colored shadow, and black mascara on the top lashes only. Tip: Layering a brown or black liner will muddy the bright liner and completely change the look, so steer clear.
